Default Window will go Up but not Down

My drivers side window will not go down anymore. I used to be able to get it down after trying for a few minutes and it would always go up 100% of the time with no problems. Im gonna take my door apart later today or tomorrow to see if I can fix it. Any suggestions on what to look for would be greatly appreciated.
P.S I have taken the doors off before to replace speakers and locks so I know how to do all that.

Im in the middle of doing the same thing with mine right now. I would check for loose or melted wiring. You might have to replace the window motar and its riveted in. If you need a new one I found mine on ebay for like 25 bucks brand new.

not going up is an indicator that the motor is goin. not going down i would think is a bad wire, connection or a switch.

One other thing. Sometimes when it wouldnt go down it would make this awful grinding noise and I would have to hit the up switch to get it to stop. I should have mentioned that in the first place.

Your motor is gone ...gonna have to switch it. And that grinding noise happens usually when the window or the parts holding it are outta place. alot of people close the door by push on the window. Over time (sometimes) the window pops off the gears allignment or whatever and it sounds bad. Mine did both those things, the sound and the problem going up and down. I replaced the motor (on both windows since I was at it) and now everything is great

something i notice with the camaros and trans ams, if the window is down and you close the door, even gently the window shakes in and out.
