Default Window motor HELL!!!

Hi!

I've been working on fixing up my car after pulling it out of storage and theres tons of problems.

I've taken my car to the shop many time getting the window motors replaced and yet again my passenger side window refuses to go down.

I just got the drivers side fixed and when it came back the other one is causing me problems.

Being a college student I can't afford to take it in so I need to figure this out myself, hopefully with your guys help.

When I hit the up button I can hear the motor make a sound but when I hit down I hear nothing.

Do you think the shop could have made a mistake installing the switchs on the drivers side that could have cause the passenger side to malfunction?

I'm willing to try anything if someone could point me in the right direction.

Thanks!

usually the window motor issue with the camaro's is the way it gets going up and doesn't get to the top. wait a bit and try again and it will go up a lil more. keep doing that till its up. not sure about it not going down... never had that issue.

I kind of checked the wiring but I honestly have no idea what I'm looking at.

How do I know which wires go where?

Sorry for my ignorance but I really have little automotive knowledge.

That's what I was thinking. Those switches have a cover over the actual switch. Sometimes the cover breaks at the hinge point and although it feels like it working right, it isn't.

When you press up the idle decreases like it has a load on it doesnt it?
Hold down on the button on the drivers side and give it a hard hit on the switch of the passengers side..come back and tell me if it goes down.

had the same problem with mine and finally decided to just change the motor. I asked my gm tech and he told me the motors will overload on power when the they go bad a short themselves out, if you cycle the key it resest them and then you can do it again. It is normally caused by a bad connection, faulty switch or just a bad motor. if you had had the motor replaced recently, the motor should still be under some type of a warranty and most shops are very reasonable about doing warranty labor for free
