Default Window motor

This may be a silly question, but are the window motors specific to each side in an 02? I bought a replacement for my passenger side and never installed it due to the original being riveted in place. Now my driver side is dying and I had to roll it down some today, leading to me getting rained and hailed on for the next 15 minutes as it rolled back up very slowly and in short bursts every few minutes.

I've made the passenger motor work, just a pain attaching to door, I ended up getting regulator from manual car & going to roll up window on driver side, still retain power mirrors & power passenger side, love it

The left and right side motors are the same. You are supposed to drill out the rivets. First check the window small circuit breaker in the fuse panel. You can swap it with the defogger one temporarily to test it.

I swapped the circuit breakers to no avail. I know I have to drill out the rivets but I'm just not the person to do it. I'm going to either have to have it done or get help.

of course you can do it yourself

we're talking about removing the door trim panel
drilling for about 60 seconds
disconnecting a connector
removing the part
putting the new part into place
using some small nuts and bolts
replacing door trim panel

do you have slip-joint pliers, a drill, some bits and screwdrivers?

Yep, but I still don't trust myself to drill holes in my door. Call me paranoid.

yes you can run into problems with these ,if you drill them out then you need pop rivet back in ,I think there easyer with the regulator ,there cheap enough to ,I don't know but I think they make them for passengers side drivers side for a reason

Thanks for the information everyone. I'm probably just going to get it done when I take a trip to my brother's house. He and a friend of ours will be able to help me out.
