Will it ever be like 1st and early second gens? I doubt it. You would need a event like outlawing gas motor or a HP limit to force a a sitiation like happened with the 1st gens. Remember the 1969-71 Camaros where some of the fastest cars on the road until the early 90s. Just about every chevy guy in high school wanted these cars for 20 years. Now those guys 40-60 got money and they all want SS or Z28. Supply and demand. That how you turn a $2800 into a 60K car. There was a time that a nice 57 chevy was worth 10 times what a 69 Camaro was worth in the same shape. Now they are about even. Why cuase the guys that wanted the 57s are old enough they are not in the market anymore. I can remember guys saying anything built after the war (WWII) was just good for parts
Now the 3rd gen was a very popular car. If you want to know where our cars are going to be 15 years from now just look at the 3rd gens. The only problem with that is the 4th gen was not a popular car so it may not fair as well as the 3rd gens are.
As for the Camaro never sharing a plaIform I would ask about the Nova. I am old enough to remember the Camaro being called a dressed up Nova.

I doubt there will be hardly any 4th gens worth anything. They are built as desposible cars for a desposible nation. The only ones that will be worth holding on to are the limited cars like the LT4 97 SS cars, the anniversary camaro/TA's that are left stock with low miles, firehawks with low miles might get up there. Regular Z's, SS's, formula's and TA's are a dime a dozen and will be sought after by high school kids as a first car because they look cool and will be cheap.

Nothing desirable? That's what people say about 3rd and 4th gens too, don't kid yourself. Really what's desirable about a 4th gen? An engine thats 10+ years old right now, craptastic interiors that can't last a decade, crap rear ends, cheap quality exterior? 3rd gens too, what is so good about a 200hp 350 lol. 5th gens probably outsold all 4th gens ever sold in their first year lol, they are obviously desirable to people.

It is just to early to tell about the 5th gens. If something happens with either insurance or Eco wise that makes the Gas engine obsolete and we are all driving 40 Hp eletric cars then the ZL1 5th gen would become a like a 1st gen 427. But what the shellby mustang shows us is that as long as the car gets a little better each year then every new year increase in value with none of them being worth more than a new one.

All excellent points. Really. I never even considered green arrows point. That could very well be true. I also fare with failed devices. You are correct sir. Who cares about an rs with a 170 hp throttle body? Rofl

Think about which pony car has endured all these years. Mustangs were, are and will always be collectible. GM dropped the ball and now they are trying to catch up. Same with Dodge and the Challenger. Ford owned the 90's and early 2000's imo.
