My car is actually red but the it looks orange pink or whatever in the pic because of the sun. Idk why but i think it just looks better. Not one person that i know who sees it did not like it. I have 5 friends with camaros and they all replaced them with black berger panels. I pulled mine from a black camaro. Mine was cracked so it worked out great.

I have seen this a few other place other then this forum. Why does Berger Chevy get the credit when it was a factory thing done on all Big block cars? Heck I have even heard it called the Berger panel. I never understood why?

In some cases I do think it looks good. This being one of them. I guess thats why its called personal taste or preference. I have a photo of a blue one on my computer that I really liked because of the black and blue scheme and that panel is something that tied into the scheme.

The official name for that pannel is the rear header pannel or tail light trim pannel depends on the part book you are looking in.
The blackened taillight pannel comes from a racing heritage to make the tail lights easier to see. Yes some forms of racing use tail lights. GM Ford and Dodge all did this on their muscle cars. Dodge also used argent on cars like the Challenger.

Well #1 that panel is not the "Bumper." Yes it would look like crap, and a ricer if the actual bumpers were black. Like the saturn in your pic. But the bumpers are not black therefore it is contradictory. My tail light panel on my 99 Z28 is black and I like it! and I don't think it looks anything like a "Ricer!" Yeah, I know it needs a bath. I just now took it.

I put the black berger style panel on my car because it was just wayyyyy too white for my taste. And I think it looks tasteful considering the mirrors and roof are also black.

I agree it looks fine if it matches something else on the car. I understand nj85z28. I couldn't stand all the white! Mine also had the roof and mirrors white. I didn't do a Berger style, but did paint the SS wheels black and added stripes to break up the plain Jane look of white and silver.
