Default Why do people change there rear "camaro" bumper

ive tried and tried but i just cant seem to figure out why people change there rear camaro bumper to a black one, i think it looks borderline awful

also the same thing with peoples front and rear bumpers (not camaros) ive been trying to figure this out, its mostly ricer types etc. but they spray paint there front and rear bumpers black, i mean i know its hard to get over the look of the 1995 saturn crap cars and make your car have the same color scheme, but why?

that camaro picture was random offline btw, i have no clue who muscle****** is

Well for the ricer bumpers, ive mostly noticed it where i live. But a lot of times its just just a replaced bumper that they bought and its black primer. Also in certain cases i like how the camaro panel is changed, some other cases not so much. Its all towards how you want your car, different taste, different people.

The black panel doesn't do much for me either....unless the car is black!
It's a throwback from when 1st gen big block Camaro's received the black tail panel from the factory. The wannabe look.

The reason for the black tail panel is to evoke the Berger Camaros from the '60s and '70s

It's very common to see the black Berger-style tail panel on 4th gens. Here's the actual 4th gen Berger Camaro:

The black sail pannel was done by GM. In 67 a SS 350 back pannel was the color of the car. But if it was a SS 396 it got the black pannel. I think the reason the berger where black was because they where all Big Blocks.

carnage9 has the black piece and i think it looks good on his car only bc of the orange but the saturns came from the factory like that along with some minivans and cavaliers

yeah the black bumpers have become popular around here too, a friend of mines brother had a beautiful ex police interceptor crown vic and he did that to it and now plans to paint the rest of the car flat black too ...gahh
and i cant even count the number of soooo fastttt street racer grand prix gt and gtp's around here that have done it, oh well

and that 454 Berger (the old one) is beautiful

i never really liked the 1st gen camaros just because they are so played out but that thing is something else

It is NOT the bumper, it is the finish panel that is changed or painted. It was done to set apart the car by Berger Chevrolet...
