Default what's the point in owning 2 camaros?

Hi all,

Today I saw a 1994 v6 for sale... It's pretty sexy looking and at 154kmiles and the guys asking $2000 for it claiming it runs great. Anyways I'm obviously SORELY tempted by it... But - whats the point really in owning 2 sports cars? I guess if one breaks down you could use your other one but I'm thinkin it's just gonna be more expensive for 2X the maintenance/repairs on the cars... Thats the logical part of my brain working - but theres the other side telling me 'Buy it, you know you want it!!! You'll never get a deal like this again!!' So I dunno am I missing something I know alot of you guys have collections of camaros but don't those simply just get really expensive to keep running?

And while we're here - are alot of the parts for a 3.4l 1994v6 auto and the 3.8l 2000v6 auto swappable? I mean like if Cammy breaks down and I had bought this other camaro would I just be able to pull something off of it to fix Cammy(besides engine stuff I realize they are different).?

Thanks, sorry if this doesn't make sense. 2000 bucks for a pretty camaro just seems like a good deal to me and these cars are probly getting rarer every year I might not get many more chances to grab another.

Some people have the 'more the merrier' point of view. I'm not sure I would buy another v6, and a 3.4 at that. It's nice to have a back-up vehicle, but why not put that 2K towards a Z instead? Or invest that into beefing up the 3.8? That's just my opinion though. I planned on buying a Z to be my performance car and keep my 3.8 as a DD.

I'd never pay 2 grand for a Camaro with a 3.4 in it. I paid 2200 for my 99 with a 3.8 in great condition =P

Save the money and use it for something else.

We have 4 of them. 3 with 3.8's and one Z. But I have 3 kids and the Z for me! All of them we bought had issues like needing a motor, head gaskets or front bumper cover and its kinda like the dog rescue people, we like them and look at it as we have saved 4 from the scrap yards. Plus, they have made some good quality time with the kids working on them and learning as we go.

agreed w/osducks and all.always nice to have a backup vehicle.dont want to have to borrow the old '89 yugo from aunt sophie in case of some down time lol!!from '94-2000 has alot of minor changes..body and engine so swapping parts is questionable.

Yea it's allways good to have a back up car or truck. I use my truck for my dd and my Camaro for my toy. But befor I got my z I had bought a 95 3.4, it had 150k on it and I got it for 900. Only the front bumper was cracked and I paid 250 for a new one painted and instaled. So personaly I wouldn't invest into another v6 camaro. Unless ya wanted to keep one as dd and make the other the fastest v6 camaro lol.

Owning 2 Camaro’s? that is just crazy talk. 3.8 owns the 3.4 if in their stock forms. The 3.4 would require some pretty hvy mods to get to where the 3.8 starts at. Very few parts are interchangeable.

I vouch for 1 V6 & 1 V8, but 2 V6's? Nah, unless one has suped-up with a twin turbo or something and the other a daily driver.
To be honest, I would not buy another 3.4L, heck I sold mine since the 3.8L is its replacement... Maybe a '10 3.6L soon... ;-)
