Hi i am new and am looking to buy a 2000 camaro. It is the rs model, v6 automatic(i would rather have the z28 v8) but i have to do with what i can afford. I have always loved camaros. It has t tops and is in great condition with a few minor body dings. It has 150k miles and was wondering if that's gonna be good. I would most likely use this as a daily driver

Technically, depending on who your talk too, high mileage is either considered at 75k or 100k miles. But like Z28 said, it depends on how it was maintained. Mine just turned 119k miles and still runs like a champ.
That being said, you're looking at the better of the V6 models. If it was well maintained, 150k miles isn't all too bad. However, I would still put away a few grand as a "just in case" fund.

Usually you will spend your money fixing other stuff besides the engine when you get over 100k, depending on how it was maintained, but at that mileage I would pay attention to suspension / steering parts (tie rods, ball joints, shocks/struts, bushings and links, rack), the brake system (wheel cylinders/calipers/rotors) and the electrical system (power windows, starter, battery). If the motor was maintained properly it should last well into the 200's or more without major issues. My Z has 182k and runs great, it's all the other little crap that comes along with a 15-20 year old vehicle that adds costs. For example, I just replaced my steering rack because the inner tie rods were shot (easier to just replace the whole rack and fight those tie rods), and now I gotta replace the brake master cylinder because of a leak. Eventually I will get everything back to new or almost new condition, but if you plan on using it as a daily driver (as I do), be prepared to spend some nights and weekends working on it, replacing stuff. And become very familiar with Rock Auto, ebay and your local pull a parts. They will be your friends.
