So if you found nothing wrong with this car, what would you offer them? My husband wants me to sell mine and get this. I'm torn as I really am attached to mine and dont ask why lol.

That's waaaay high. I don't know if car values in your area are that inflated, but here there is a 97 at a dealer with 70k miles, asking price of $5,975. I wouldn't pay more than $5k for either one, and that's pushing it.

Yeah I think it's way high too. I took all the info and just looked on kbb and it was in the $5k range. I think they are focusing too much on the mileage and it being a 3.8 30th anniversary. I dont like the color but it has stuff mine doesnt such as hinge on the storeage compartment, manual windows, clean dash, trunk stays open (lol.)

Oh and pros on mine, I'd rather have the salad shoot wheels and not so keen on stock stereo. I started with an 8 track player in my first car lol. I would like at least a CD player and most likely ipod adapter if I'm going new. I do know a lot about mine after 2 years of experiencing it and nothing on that one. I still have one more shop visit before I even consider starting over.

Also I took the VIN and ran it and it brings up 19 records. I'd dig deeper into that before making a decision. Could be maintenance stuff but anyway, the VIN says it's an RS and if you make that selection on KBB it made it $7168.

It is way over priced. I guess they are looking to sell this to one of their current higher end customers as a kids first car. 5K on the top end with 4K as a decent price. It is still a 16 year old car. Seals go bad with time and the intake will be due for a new gasket if it has not been done yet.
Heck you can find nice LS1's with 70K on the clock for 8-9K all day long.

You'll have to straighten them out on that "30th anniversary edition" thing. The 97 is a 30th anniversary car, going by simple calendar date. But the 30th anniversary "edition" is a Z28 (not a v6 car), and is white with orange stripes.
Go figure, another dealer that doesn't know their butt from a hole in the ground!

If you read the text close it say Coupe/RS meaning it could be either. In 97 the RS would had the ground effects and the RS badges. For some reason it reports all V6's like that.

I wouldn't care either way but just wondered how much "too high" they were asking as it would make a difference in price on kbb. I really dont want to do business with them. They screwed us over years ago on a 2 year old truck. Would just like to be able to tell my husband "they are wanting twice as much as it's worth".
