So I have just been looking up the RPO codes on my 02 Camaro SS, So far I have verified that its an SS with the WU8, and that I have the 3:23 gears. But anyways I came across a Z29 RPO that comes right after the WU8, from my research most people have Z28, I looked up the Z29 and it says "vinyl stripe". So did my car come from the factory with some kind of stripe that was takin off? Just curious as to what this means. Thanks!

Oh okay ya I know those ones. I thought those were SLP stripes, not Z29 stripes. But it still doesnt answer the question as to why my car has that RPO, since it is not an SLP car and it has no stripes. Unless it was ordered with the stripes and then they were takin off.

And my car looks exactly like the second car in that picture ha.

 

it either came with the stripes or was ordered with stripes added at the dealer and never where or where in either case and where removed.

 

Makes sense, I have never even seen a picture of a silver one with the stripes on it, not sure how it would look. Have only seen black cars and red cars with them.

If its an 02 SS It is an SLP car, all the SSs went to SLP for upgrades.

 

Look at the RPO codes to verify the car.

WU8 = SS

Y2Y = SS with SLP upgrades.

 

Ha ya ghost stripes for sure, it does not have Y2Y, it just has the WU8 and then Z29
