When I put the vinyl camaro letters on my car the instructions to put them on the car involved a squirt/spray bottle with dish soap and water. Maybe try that to take them off?

If the letters are vinyl, heat them up with a hair dryer. That'll help soften the adhesive and make the vinyl more pliable.
If they're painted, ain't no easy way to get it off, would be better to paint over the red.

Hair dryer -- same way you remove stickers from your bumper. But I would just leave them or paint them like Camaro 69 says...

WD-40 is very oily and is good at removing adhesive. i would try a hair dryer and some wd-40 if that doesnt work
