Weird E-brake issue

try pulling the brake a few times and see if the auto adjust will take up the slack. if not then you need a new cable or the adjuster is sticking.

It does fix itself as soon as I put the brake back down and pull up on it.

The e-brake isn't hard to replace. I did mine last week. All you have to do it take out your center console, unhook the cable from the handle, and pull it through the bottom of the car(Put the driver's side up on jack stands. That will be plenty of room). Then you unhook the bottom half of the cable. It's easy because they basically fall out after the top is unhooked. Getting the new one in is a little trickier. Do the top first, feed it down from the top of the car, then attach the bottom cables. Then and ONLY then do you attach the cable mounts to hold the cable in place under the car and behind your brake handle. It makes a world of difference. There's more tension on the cable if you attach the cable supports first. So do those last. I'll post pics of what to do if you like.

Sure. I probably won't be doing it anytime soon. Maybe a winter project. But I can hang onto it for reference.

Ok. I'll post some up later tonight when I get a chance. I can't take pics of my car because it just got impounded today but I'll get pics online and circle what to do first in photoshop lol

impounded????? what did you do??? you better get it out tomorrow that sht gets expensive quick my buddy got his car impounded for like 5 hrs and he had to pay like 300$
