Default Water Pump and Opti-Spark

1997 Z-28 Camaro. Auto trans. Changed out water pump w/new180 degree thermostat, and opti spark. Cranked it up and it runs fine, but can't fill with coolant. Both bleed screws are removed. I have changed the coolant out before, and I am familiar with bleeding the air from the system.I'm thinking I may have not had the water pump coupling shaft lined up, therefore forcing it into the back of the pump. Have I damaged anything besides the pump? What else could be wrong? Thanks, Van Marshall

Default RE: Water Pump and Opti-Spark

when i replaced my water pump i had to let it go through heat cycles to allow the water and coolant to be pulled into the water pump and throught he motor.
