I would buy all the stuff that is really necessary for modding, CAI, LT's , Xpipe, cam, rims (if stock ones are still on if not then some $1300 PRC heads) Ported TB, 85mm maf, short throw shifter, tune, and SFC's. And some money would be left for the installs.And yesall that can be donewith that amount

nah.... I said either rims or heads, but not both. Here is the break down of what I got and I will try to remember where, and the cost:

Prc stage 2.5 ls6 heads with titanium retainers, dual spring kit good to .660 lift..etc $1300 - from TSP
Push rods chromoly hardened $100 - from TSP
Cometics gaskets $140 - TSP
LS2 chain $38 - TSP
TRAK cam 231/231 .644/.598 112 lsa $375 (on sale)from Thunder Racing
37# Racetronix injectors $290 (on sale) from Thunder also
85mm Maf (on sale) $175 - ??? forgot where
Ported TB from the Guy at Ls1tech with all mods $120 (just do a search you'll find him)
Powerbond pulley (on sale) $180-190 forgot where I got it
NGK TR55 plugs $16-$20 everywhere
Pacesetter LT's coated $390 Redline performance
Custom 3" True dual Xpipe $275 off of ebay brand new

Using the highest amounts that comes out to $3400

If you do Prc stage 1 heads then thats -$400 which can be used for your tune.
You can also change this around, likeforget the pulley and use that money for some UMI subframe connectors which are like $150 on ebay. Save about $40.
Don't get an Xpipe and get the Pacesetter Ypipe for $125that saves another $150......etc you get the idea.

 

Get a fully forged stroker kit, port and polish the heads, throw on some Hooker headers with some Flowmasters and true dual exhaust and probably play around with the cam. Oh, and get a short throw shifter. Maybe play around with the suspension.

A stroker? Why would you start backwards?? Doing the biggest mod FIRSTwithout the supporting mods makes no sense. Probably play around with the cam????On your home planet do they stroke out cars and while everything is out then put all the stock stuff back in like the cam, pushrods, timingchain...etc? Hooker Headers! Pacesetters cost the same and are an easy install and flow great with time and time again proven results.Not to mention that of the dozen and dozens of Fbody people I knownobody has Hooker's in their car.....maybe in the back seat......Ohhhhhh bahdum dum chaaaa! Port and polish heads? What kind of Playstation Gran Turismo crap is that? Flowmaster's? No seriously....Flowmasters!!! with a true dual exhaust? Hey that makes sense....look at me everybody I just bought the best flowing exhuast setup and slapped the mostrestrictive aftermarketmuffler on it....I shouldbe in MENSA...I know!

Oh and forget about getting FAST 90/90 setup or fuel injectors, rocker arms, pistons......what you REALLY need when you stroke out a car is a short throw shifter, holy snap!Wow and here I am spending all this $$$ money on silly crap like bigger heads, cams, intakes....etc when all I needed to do was get a K&N some hooker's w/flowcrapsters, a Stroker kit oh and the star on the tree....the short throw.... wow bravo well done chap. All this time so many people have wasted through the years using the accumilative modding knowledge from the 1960's and on, what a shame.
