Default voltage issue, need help bad!!!!!!

It is driving nuts trying to figure out where my problem is coming from. I just got a brand new red top optima battery and a 200 amp powermaster alternator and installed it. My voltage came up to 14-14.5 then I took it for a test drive because I always want to be sure everything is alright. Sure enough after a couple laps in the neighborhood the voltage started to drop into the red everytime I wasn't on the gas. Please help I can't afford to replace much more.

Everything hooked up correctly and secure? Loose wires could be the culprit of your undercharging. Also improper belt routing, no belt, little to no belt tension could be key.

It is definately not a belt issue. I have the comp cams torque adjustable belt tensioner, which is great. I think M*******LT1 hit it on the head. I drove to work and when I came back from my route and got in my car to go home the car wouldn't start. Thanks for the comments and if anyone else has any ideas that would be helpful.
