Default volt gauge

most of the problem i has with the car are fixed for now ,i notice sometimes ,other night was leaveing around dark ,the lights flasinging on the dash ,i had notice the dash volt guage moveing back an forth down then up ,then it stops `,i have gotten the check gauges light come on a few times, since owning the car ,one person said a short ,my thought is mabey the ,the alternator is going slowly ,i did notice one day the whole box was loose ,an put it back in place ,it was good when i had the inspection done ,so no codes 95% of the time its normal
