Default Vacuum Lines

Have found a couple of broken vacuum lines. The hard plastic ones. One going to the FPR, another going to the HVAC. Have temporarily fixed them using heat shrink, but they have become brittle over the years. Am trying to find a source to purchase and have found a couple of the lines (but not all) at gmpartsdirect, however they want like $13 to mail me a $2 part. Are these best bought directly from a dealer? Anyone purchased a complete set to replace everything under the hood with all new vacuum lines and if so did you just go to the dealer? (I hate going to the dealer).

Most auto parts stores carry bulk vacuum lines for less than $2 a foot. I'd just find out the sizes and just buy what I needed. Beats buying it from a dealer...oh wait...they buy a lot of their stuff from us (auto parts store). Haha. I work next to a Chevy dealership and they get all their parts from us since I can just walk it over.

for hvac, is it the hard platic hose that goes through the firewall? i would think dealer would have that.

The ones off the manifold for Egr, fpr, etc. They have rubber 90's on them but the rest is hard plastic.

The dealer prob will not have them. Back in the day, we never stocked them, and GM doesnt keep parts around forever. Maybe the aftermarket Camaro parts supplier will.
Hope I'm wrong, good luck.

Some of those hard pieces you're replacing are likely to be fuel return lines, so make sure you use fuel rated line/hose.

No, just replacing the small 1/8" hard plastic vacuum lines and other rubber vacuum lines, like going to the PCV valve, brake booster, etc. I'm not going to mess with fuel lines.
