Default V6 TBW to cable throttle

So I’m swapping a 2000 engine into my 96, the 2000 has Throttle by wire, can I just switch out the throttle body for the one on my 96 and run it or is there something else I need to do?

yes, you will of coarse need to switch over any thing else that is not the same as your 96 setup.

ok, but any idea what all that might be? Or are all parts interchangeable? Such as upper intake manifold, valve covers things like that? I’ve received various answers to this... some say that the 96 3.8 series 2 is different than the 2000?

I don't see why this wouldn't work, the only reason it wouldn't is the diameter of your upper intake manifold is different than that of your 96 throttle body. I think that the 96 upper intake manifold should just bolt up to a 2000 camaro motor. Someone else can clarify.

I would pull the lower intake on the new motor anyways to replace the gaskets. then you will see if there is a difference and if there is use the 96 one. if its a 2000 camaro engine it will fit.
