Underdrive to blame for voltage

RE: Underdrive to blame for voltage
I get an odd mild-strobing of dash lights and headlights on my 01 SS, not sure what it is, it's stock Monsoon no special modifications that would affect the lighting -- unless Silverstar Ultras bulbs draw too much power compared to stock bulbs?
I haven't really spent any time to figure out what's up...

RE: Underdrive to blame for voltage
yeah mine sorta did it before... then i installed my head unit and my alternator died... now i have my new stock replacement and i charge my battery from time to time. I think it has to do the fact that my pos and neg bolts are loose from time to time and i have to tighten them.. could the vibrations from the engine/sound system really cause the already stripped and worn bolts to come loose?

RE: Underdrive to blame for voltage
For the stripped bolts just get a good set of top mount terminals and get rid of the side mounts. Mine were a problem because the rubber that protects them was keeping them from having full contact. But also the side mounts strip real easy. Don't get gold platted though they're junk. I went ahead and bought a SFI approved 7.5" harmonic balancer/crank. If this doesn't work I will have to search the whole car over for a parasitic draw.
