Default Turbo

So, I've gotten a new Turbo off an old fire truck and that leaves me with the old one to spare. What does a Camaro need to be outfitted with such? Thanks.

Default RE: Turbo

Well first, a turbo off an old fire truck might or might not (probably won't) be the right size for the Camaro. You would need to fab up some headers, get the correct flanges, a waist gate, bigger injectors,a tune, custom piping, an intercooler (not 100% needed but a good idea), oil lines from the pressure side of the pump to the turbo and a return to the oil pan. And a bunch of other stuff I am probably forgeting. At that point you might be able to run 8-10 psi on a stock bottom end, any more PSI than that and you need a forged bottom end. It's no easy task to custom fab a turbo.
