Hi I have a 95 camaro 3.4l standardwith 98k miles. I am having issues starting. Lately it wont start the first time I try to start it. It will start to start then the engine stops but the starter keeps spinning. Usually the second time I try it starts up right away slightly faster then it did before this problem. It started right before my alt and battery died.
Any help or ideas would be great thanks

How long does the starter keep spinning? Also, when you start it the first time, do you go straight from the key being in the off position to on position (thus not letting fuel pump build pressure)? Or do you wait a few seconds with key in the on position?

StanGT no I never really had it on the on position and gave it time. I mean maybe a second or two but thats it.
Oh and the starter would keep spinning as long as I held it. Which usually was not to long after I herd the engine stop turnning.
Well it turns out that the starter that was in it did not have long enough teeth is what the shop said. They had to put in a high torque one in because it was the only one with long enough teeth. They checked my flywheel and said it looked good.So now when it starts up rpms go up higher than it did before around 2k now.
