Default Transmission swap help.

I have to get a transmission for my 98 camaro. But since I have to get one anyway, I'm interested in possibly swapping it to a manual. But I need some questions answered. I see that there aren't 4 speed manual tranny's for the camaro, just 5 and 6 speeds. Would having a different amount of gears work with the 3.8L engine? And what all would I have to change as far as sensors? Or would sensors be able to be ignored since it will be controlled manually? I know I would have to add a clutch pedal, but what kind of obstacles would be in my way if I wanted to do this? Thanks for any help!

You need to change a lot over for a transmission swap. Easiest way is to get a wrecked 5 speed, 3.8L car and swap over a whole lot of stuff.

the pcm would need to be tuned, i think the bcm needs changed, i remember someone on here doing it and it was easier than going from manual to auto. auto uses a mess of sensors. still a big project.
