So have you changed the tranny fluid? And how many miles on the car? Do you know if the trans has ever been rebuilt?

How long have you had it? Maybe it could use a fluid change. Couldn't hurt!

Where in Texas are you? In New Braunfels is a shop calledBrinkkoeters 830 625-9646and they have worked on my 96 Impala SS and have my 02 Camaro SS as we speak. They do very good work. Do not trust the chain companies. Most are independently owned and operate under the name of the chain. Trust the owner as individual tranny guy by his rep not the name above the shop. Sometimes the best thing to do is buy a tranny and swap it yourself instead of someone rebuilding what you have. Check with Jegs and Summit.

it might not be your tranny i had a similar problem in my other car and it was the maf sensor that was starting to go bad, it prevented me from accelerating normally.
