Default tranny problems

i have a 01 camaro and the tranny keeps messing up its an auto, i just had the shift sioloniod b replaced but it keeps messing up, i was driving it home last week then the check engine light comes on and the car starts to slip, it has a stall and shift kit in it, anyway i try to pull into my garage and it would slip really bad it two grand then catch and move, well i was gonna wait a few day then see if it was still doing it, well the check engine light was off and it was driving fine no slipping or anything, took it for a drive then it did it again and it has been sittin in the barn ever since, could it be an o ring, a internal leak or what need help! thank you

Is it slipping in any certain gear or does it keep changing where it slips?

If you manually shift it (even though its an automatic) and its fine in first and second, but when you shirt it into drive or overdrive then its your 3-4 clutch pack. If it is not fine in first in second, then it is all of the clutches. I just had to replace my 3-4 pack about a month ago because it was doing the same thing that you are describing. But to replace these, a lot must be replaced. Not a full rebuild of the tranny, but A LOT!

how much was it, and well see i thought the same thing but when the check engine light went off it didnt slip at all it drove normal, and could the clutches be getting messed up because of the torque converter being to small?

I had a buddy of mine do it that sponsors one of our trucks..he charged me $1250 to do it. Even if it wont slip some of the time, the fact thats its doing it is bad. You dont want it to blow the tranny to where you need a complete rebuild. My light didnt even come on when mine started slipping. And as far as the torque converter goes, have you ever changed it? And it also got me thinking that if its not slipping anymore, you might want to look into changing your tranny fluid and filter first before letting a shop rip it open. How many miles are on it?

You said the tranny was rebuild not too long ago ? It is possible that if the teflon seals were not installed correctly it could cause your 3-4 clutch to burn up early.
