Torque Converter
I just pulled out my tranny to put in a new torque converter, when i put the converter next to the old one it was the same size. But, when i put the converter back in the tranny and put the tranny back up, the hole on the converter wouldnt line up with the holes on the flywheel. I went back to autozone and the said that from a 1995 and up the torque converter should fit. I have an 02 Z automatic, should this converter fit? Do I need different bolts? Because it looks like there no way this is going to fit. The holes are about an 1/8 of an inch off. Any adivce?
i'm pretty sure the ls1 and lt1 have different converters. maybe someone has more knowledge on this than me, but the lt1 4l60e and the ls1 4l60e aren't a direct replacement for eachother
The transmissions are internally the same and have the same external dimensions, but I know the LS1 has a different bellhousing and probably a different flywheel. I've never taken an LS1 appart though, so I can't give you a 100% on the flywheel.
Autozone, o'reilly's, and advance keep telling me that this converter will fit, but chevy is telling me theres no way that it will. It really doesnt look like it will, at least not with these bolts. And i dont want to jerk it back out until im sure that it wont work. I heard that the 02 LS1 converter actually comes from a truck, and because of the overdrive gears, this one wont fit. anyone?
