Any information on how to change out the torque arm bushing? I plan on doing it this weekend, I found a video on youtube for it but the guy made it look like a pain in the ****. Here is the link of what I found on the tube

Three bolts and the clam shell comes apart..actually, I don't even think you have to remove all three, I think you can just do one or two. It's not a horrible job. Put some grease on the torque arm and in the bushing to help it slide on.

 

i had to grind the rivets off and it was a pita getting back together. i took the whole thing out instead of fighting it under the car.

 

crud, thats exactly what im afraid off. i guess the newer models had bolts instead of rivets? ill have to look under there again im pretty sure its rivets on my 95. was it a requirement to drill off rivets or was it due to an issue like the mount was stuck or something?

 

i guess it wasnt that bad, not sure why they are there but the rivits holds the mount in, when busted it only holds half of it. the hardest part for me was getting the clam shell closed.

 

ill.just pay my mechanic lol.im.being too lazy. i think the 98s have a bolts. some kid on YouTube said it only took him 5 minutes

 

The mount itself is not hard to get out. Rivets take about 2 minutes to grind off and punch out.

 

took him 10 minutes ,was probley more time blocking the car off the ground ,so if you got a friend with lift its 15 minute job

 

ill probably rent a grinder or a handsaw or something. I wish I had a friend with a lift, I need to find one. anywho LOL thanks all

 

my 98 had rivets as did my 93. no 4th gen f body cars have bolts iirc. you need to grind off the rivets because they hold the old rubber material in place and you cant properly fit the new poly bushing in there without removing them. I just did it with a drill. i do remember one part of it being a pain and thats trying to squeeze the two sides of it together with that poly bushing in there because its so stiff that its hard to get it to close together with the torque arm in place through the bushing. otherwise it was pretty simple.
