TIRES!

RE: TIRES!
I suggest looking at tirerack.com, find some tires you like, read the reviews, and decide. I almost always get my tires from there (I have 4 vehicles), and it's usually much cheaper then buying locally. As an example, I just bought a set of Sumi 275/45/17's for my Z28. This time I wanted them fast, so I went to Merchants Tire near my house and got a set that night. If I had ordered the same exact set from tirerack.com, I would have saved $250, and that includes the price of the tires, having them shipped, and paying my local guys to install them. Price at Merchants- $760 total with all their crappy charges. Price if I had been more patient and could have waited 3 or 4 days- $510 total. After I bought from Merchants, I sure wished I had ordered them instead. The crappy add-on charges kinda shocked me. Live and learn, they'll never get my business again. So long story short, find a tire you like, then compare prices locally (be sure to make them tell you all the charges they add on) and at tirerack. By the way, I love the Sumi's I got.

RE: TIRES!
I second tire rack. Get a price from them on the tires you want and take that to your local dealer. Most places will mount tires you buy from them much cheaper so it may work out to being roughly the same. But make sure you know the cost from tire rack as a comparison.
