The 4L60 is the new name for a 700r4, the 4L60E is simply an electronically controlled 700r4, almost the same internal components as I recall.

As far as the mounting etc. The LT1 should have all the same exterior mounting points for motor mounts etc. that a traditional SBC has. The block is physically the same exact size and shape, it has some different mounting holes for the water passages and front cover, but I think the motor mounts should be the same.

hmmm Ok so just to confirm 4L60 is BETTER THEN 700r4? lol
