Post Tips?

OK, so I'll be getting my LT1 pretty soon here, and I'm planning on putting a good cam in it and porting the intake manifold. SO, any advice on porting the thing? And while we're at it, any advice retro-fitting it into my truck? I.E., does the LT have different motor mounts than a normal SBC? and space issues I might have? I know the length of the transmission wont be a problem cuz the 4L60E is the same length as my long-shaft TH350, but any other retrofit problesm I might come across?

the motor mounts were replaced about 3000 miles ago, and are still in great shape. I was just wondering if I'd need to find custom ones for a swap. I think all I should have to do is re-mount the cross member for the tranny, but then again that's for a 700r4, I'm not sure if the 4L60E is different... but, welding shops and what-not around here are pretty cheap for custom work, so if I do (and I prolly will if you say it's different...) then it wont set me back too much...

why not use the 700r4 it should bolt up to the lt1, unless there is something wrong with the 700r4

Well, I was going to go with the 4L60E cuz I'm looking for a later model LT1, and '93 is the only year that uses the 700r4. That, and I'm not sure if it'll take the power I'm looking to get out of it. But that is a good point though... I have one that needs rebuilding, and I have a rebuild kit. I was going to put it into my car with my truck current motor though. We shall see!

well actually 93 has the 4l60 which is kinda like the 700r4.The 4l60e is actually very similar to a 700r4 except the 700r4 isnt electrical

isn't the 4L60E stronger than the 700r4? I think the 700 will take.... 300 horses stock, if I remember right... I have a good rebuild kit for it, but will that take the 350+ I'll be getting from it? If it's not stronger or weaker than the 4l60, I'll use the one I've got and find another for the car. That, or just find a '93 Lt1...
