Yeah, doesnt mean its faster. Its how the power is applied.. I think the LS1 has top end and the LT1 has lower end power.. i dunno its confusing... In my opinion either would be bad ***, but try to find one with some options.. like leather seats or a CD player atleast lol.

lt1 parts are cheaper, ls1 is better if you are doing a basic bolt on street car but if you going all out drag most preffered is the lt1. the ls1 mid to top end is alot better but it has a 6200 rev. limiter and the lt1 has a 5700 rpm rev. limiter. The lt1 is good for a first race car, but its all about what you want.. I like the look of the 98+s but id rather have my 94 any day of the week.

There you go, that's pretty much what I didn't know whenI bought mine. Maybe "Spartan" could have a go with an LS1,assuming his mods work well together, but an LS1 will be even from take off or catch up pretty fast.
I raced an '02 anniversary SS (auto) from a red light and I took the lead out of the gate. The only reason that happened was because he spinned his tires for a bit and couldn't drive. I mean, I was about 2 cars ahead in 1st; he was ahead by half a car in 2nd; in 3rd he just pulled away nasty style! Well, the only mods I had was flowmaster muffler and CIA by the wayand I'm pretty sure he was stock.

heres how it goes... its just like mustangs... you run into guys with brand new SS 02s who think their the **** and rev on your beater looking LT1 and then u go to race and they cant drive... with mustangs its.. u run your brand new GT against an old Foxbody thats all kinds of crazy fast... just because the car is newer doesnt mean it will drive itself... like i said.. preferance... I raced a brand new RSX Aspec and i whooped on him even tho he was rolling up on me because he was granny shifting... Any car can be great with a budget and a good driver...

An LS1 is a faster car stock, and technically the motor has a bit more potential. That doesn't mean that the LT1 is a bad motor, and I personally like the looks of the '93-'97 anyway. With enough money, anything can be fast...

LS1's are aluminum block (lighter) LT1's are cast iron block (heavier) both are great engines. depending on where you live in the city or the country. if you live in the city i would go with the LT1= more low end power LS1 = more high end power IMO. ive driven both. LS1's take better to mods a little easier and if not mistaken they make more for em too. The technology of the LS1 is awesome for the time period and still is one of the fastest cars on the street today vs. newer performance from other manufacturers. as for the LT1's "stomping"on LS1's i dont know about that. depends on 1/8 mile or 1/4 mile and mods done to each. and for 305 hp 335 tq it seems to me to be a little underrated.
