Was there ever a true LT1 in a '94 Z28?

Yes, but my 2-4 bolt query was pertaining to this year car, or earlier as in my 92 Vette where it appears to be a cross-reference application for both cars.
And you don't consider only 7.3% of all 94's coming with a 6-speed rare?

Of course, what I ment was of all the 6 speeds many where hard tops. Because it was a 6 speed/hard top in itself did not mean anything.

Joining this forum was the best thing I've done since I kicked my last GF out. You guys are like Yoda in a GM Goodwrench uniform. After going off some good advice in here, I discovered that the car is an overstock Z28 with a 4 bolt main AND all the goodies that came with a true vette motor. This came from running the VIN at my local Chevy dealer. It's not a LE1 or B4C car and it has power everything windows, locks, etc. The engine has an upside down 327 stamp (owner says this is proof of authenticity) and is a matching numbers car. Problem is.....no oil pressure. One new head, one original head. I got him down to $2000 but I'm not looking for another car with a time bomb engine...I already have one of those. Do you guys think it's worth it?

94 6 speed that needs a motor is worth 2K. The transmission and all the tranny parts alone is worth $1200-1500. It might not be the car your looking for the guy is not trying to rip you off. The fact that it is a 4 bolt would not mean much if you are not 100% sure the block is not damaged even if it was rebuild able it will not be worth a lot more. Finding core vett motors is not that hard to do and the 2 bolt version are not known for being weak. I guess if the 2 bolt blocks sucked more then the 4 bolts blocks would be worth more.

When the car was idling the pressure guage was pegged to the left. When he gave it gas it moved with the RPM, but nowhere near the middle. He said the oil pump might be bad. I"m just concerned that it's gonna be bad news if I buy it. I didn't hear any engine knock, but just being careful not to buy a lemon.

No burgandy hotrods! Geeze, guess I'm done with the ole 94Z then! Lol.
After putting on new head gaskets on the one I bought, the oil pressure at normal operating temp was showing 0 with the dash gauge and I put a mechanical gauge on to verify. Mechanical is saying little over 20 at idle warm engine and over 40 at about 2000 rpm. The dash guage did not move much with increased rpm once the engine was warm.

My dad had a late 60's, early 70's station wagon that bellowed smoke and backfired when you lifted off the gas. It was a miserable car to be in and be seen in. Guess what color it was? That car scarred me for life when it comes to burgandy! Even though this 94 Z is one of the more scarce cars, I may pass on it due to the fact that I'm a rookie with a manual transmission and I"m afraid of tearing the car up on wet roads or driving it to work daily in our wierd Maryland winters. Some of you may want me to wear the collar of shame, but....I refuse to own a burgandy sports car!
Sigh...I think I might need therapy.
