Default still some more problems, help if you can

i installed a new mass airflow sensor today. for those of you who didn't read my last thread about what's going on with my car, it has been backfiring/missing really bad when i get on the throttle. my mechanic told me it's the maf sensor, so i put one on. it runs much better, but it didn't fix the problem completely. he looked under the hood while i floored the throttle and said it's backfiring. he said i could just need a tune-up or something could be going on with the fuel injector; stuck open or closed. it idles perfectly and i can ease the gas to it and it'll run fine. so what do you guys think? does this sound legit? i'm on a budget so i can't keep pouring money into it, i need to be as sure as possible.

Here is a little bit of reading on the system. I says it can lead to your symptoms. http://www.autozone.com/shopping/rep...00c152800b8551
