Default SS or Z28?

I'm looking for a LS1 car and I can't decide on which one to go after. I love the look of a stock SS, Hawk's for example. But I also like the idea of getting a Z28 and customizing it. Doing something a little different than everyone else. Like an Ultra-Z or cowl inductionhood and Z06 rims, maybe add some racing stripes or something, just something you don't see that much on Camaros(at least around here). Most running around are left stock. Just wondering what you guys think?

i totally agree that the stock ss is a beautiful car...but none of us are really going to be able to help you with this question...its more of what you like more and have the money to do...modding the exterior is going to cost money but when you're done you'll have an original car but you can't call it an ss...let us know what you decide though!

I voted stock exterior SS, but that's only because I think that modding the exterior is futile when you can make it go faster

Yeah I thought about that. I'd like to get it to around 400hp eventually. But going from a 3.8 to an LS1 is going to bea huge jump, so I think I'll be ok leaving it stock for a while if I want to spice up the exterior.I can't wait to get behind the wheel of one for the first time, school can't get over fast enough.

If it were me, I'd go with the SS, you can always modify it as well. I take the stance on modifying the look of a car as a good investment as long as you don't take it too far. I like to keep the clean lines from the factory, but give it just enough detail and customization to set it apart from the rest of the cars on the road. To give an example, I was looking at decals for my WS6 and saw some cars that had **** plastered all over the doors, hood, back window, etc. Most of it was just too much and took away from the natural beauty of the stock look.

I would rather make it look nice than go fast...There are no laws on how nice your car looks. But there are laws on speed. Dont get me wrong, performance is a must, but a good driving record is better when it comes to paying for insurance.

and "looks" don't draw your attention when you're not looking directly at the car...i don't know about you guys but anytime i hear a rumbling v8 driving i look to find it. in my opinion...if you get the ss and do some performance mods...people will get turned on when they hear your car and then get completely wet when they see it

Whammers got a point, I remember when I had my 78 Z that was all cammed up, it could actually give me goose bumps pinging off of other cars at stop lights. With my WS6, hell I almost chub up when I mash the gas and those pipes start roaring .
