I have a '94 with the base system. AC delco head unit with 4 speakers. I don't think it sounds horrible but the problem is it seems to have a mind of it's own. Sometimes it keeps looping part of a song, than it'll play a little but than loops again. Sometimes when you hit the break or go over a bump it cuts out, sometimes the LCD goes out and sometimes it just doesn't work at all! I know it's a wireing issue but it's annoying!

I'm getting an aftermarket head unit soon and hopefully that'll solve my music woes.

Why not just update to a aftermarket head unit and add four new speakers and sub in the hatch? It's what I did (minus the two rear speakers, getting around to it) and it sounds great.
