Question Spark plug wire replacement

Hello guys just joined the forum here. I have a 93 z28 camero and i need to put plug wires in it. I can see them arching off the headers at night. I was looking at this sucker and man those bad boys are hidden. Is the only way u can do that is by taking off the water pump? If so is anything special i need to worry about or prevent.

Thanks for your time!

You can change the plug wires without removing the waterpump on an LT1 Camaro. It is harder, but doable.

I personally would remove the waterpump and do it that way, and inspect / replace the front seals on the engine while it was out.

Well the optispark is right behind the water pump, I would recommend going from the bottom and plugging them in before routing the new ones to the correct cylinder.

yes you can install plug wires without removing the water pump. on the passenger side i rerouted the wires up through a hole between the ac pump and the alt cause they wouldnt fit the original route. the hardest part is getting them back ones in the metal wire holder. im thinking of making some new longer ones that run on the top side.

Check out this link for information on bleeding your cooling system:

There is a lot info on the shbox.com site for 4th gen Camaro's.
