From talking to several people that are experienced with these cars, I've been told that around 80 to 100 thousand miles the seals that wereused tend to start wearing and breaking down. I was told that even after they replaced the leaky seals they still sometimes encountered small leaks, I've battled them in the past and know that they can be frustrating as hell, good luck. I'm not recommending this, but one way a buddy of mine got his LS1 to stop leaking was to move up to a 10w-40.

The most common oil leak on the Z28 comes from the back of the intake manifold. When they built the LT1's in the factory they started the motors too early and did not allow the bead of sealant to completely cure, so pretty much every LT1 will leak sooner or later.

Yes, and manydrivers and shopsconfuse the intake manifold leak with a bad rear seal, and spend a bunch of money getting the wrong thing fixed.
