I don't know whether to use the express down module bypass using the $140 kit to keep express down functionality (not a big deal) and solve low voltage issue or disconnect it and just jump the grey/brown wires. I always thought GM using the same motor meant for a dinky Astro window on the Camaro was the explanation for the premature failures. I didn't realize the voltage drop to the motors was an issue also. If the droppage is significant and/or often I'd say it's the primary reason for failure-analogous to fridges sharing outlet voltage. Anyway, it seems the kit solves that. I assume the simple jump wire bypass just eliminates the modules shortcomings or does it actually provide the whole 12v needed? I've got a couple rebuilt motors, one Delco from Cardone and one Chinese crapshoot to install. I saw one negative reference to the kit, on here I think, but I think he jumped to that conclusion prematurely. Please let me know what u would do at your earliest cuz I just got this thing roadworthy (after 13+ yrs) but I've only taken it around the block once to listen for issues. I can't take it for a proper cruise until I can roll the windows down with T-tops off, right
I thought/hoped someone bypassed the EDM after seeing a missing slot in the yellow crayon circle on the firewall but it's still there right above the circle. I think these pics are just part of the alarm system and of the wires for the Kenwood 10 disc changer in the trunk though. The toggle switch seems weird-no idea what it controls nor why the relay taped in the middle of the cluster is needed. There's also an inline fuse link that was disabled. I have a feeling its disabled because there was a "power leak" repair receipt from former owner in the glove box.
