Default short in tail lights

Hi guys. My car (98 3.8) keeps blowing tail lamp fuses. Initially this would happen once in a while, but now it's at the point where it happens everytime I turn on the lights. I pop in a new fuse, turn the light switch, and the fuse instantly blows. I figure that there's a short somewhere in the system, maybe a pinched wire or something.

Does that sound right? Where/how do I start to track this down? I've been looking at the wiring diagrams, but are there certain spots in the wiring where this is more likely to occur? I do have a voltmeter although I'm not too sure how to use it

Any help would be awesome!

pull the plug off the back of the light switch and test the wires to see which one is grounded. better seach online and learn how to use the test meter.
