Default Short Shifter ?

Theres a Hurst 7.5" and a 6.5" version. How much more difficult is the 6.5" to shift than the 7.5"? My wife likes driving the car too, so I dont want to make it to where she has trouble with it. Shes a small girl... I had an MGW on my Z06 and she couldnt get it in reverse and had trouble with 1st allot!! I plan on getting just the stick and not the base...

Before and After of the Hurst shifter and 1 7/8" ****. I wound up NOT using the jamb nut which gave me another 1/2" for a total of an inch shorter overall than stock was. Its got a nice feel to it, beit a hair smaller than the stock ****....but I really like the looks of it.
