short shifter
put my short shifter in today makes a huge difference cut the throw in about half it was easy to do until i got to getting it unsealed from the tranny couldnt cut it off because the old shifter has a lip around it so i had to push really hard to get it unsealed but after that it was easy definatly worth it to anybody who hasnt done it

it might be a little different with the 5 speed but sure
1. undo your shift ****
2. take off plastic piece that holds leather cover (dont forget to unplug the light bulb for the ashtray)
3. remove shifter rod 2 13mm bolts
4. remove rubber boot 7 screws 7mm (these were kind of a pain because of the carpet i ended up needing to take off the bolt where the ashtray sit so i could move the plastic a little easier)
5.remove 4 bolts on top of shifter plate
6. push really hard against it you may need to put the rod back on to get leverage
7. scrape off the top around the sealing area to clean off any old left over sealer (i used a straight razor)
8. use a liquid gasket or silicone around the top of the tranny
9. put new shifter on
10. put everything else back together in reverse order
