Shock replacement 94 Convertible
Hi guys need help. Trying to replace shocks on my 1994 convertible. First problem is I cant find the top nuts on the rears. Also could not find any videos showing how to replace the rears. Remember I have a convertible. OK assuming I can get help doing the rears lets talk about the front struts. I was only able to find one video that showed anything useful, however they mentioned some pretty crazy (to me) stuff like having to half remove the brake booster module, unbolt the lower control arm, remove the sway bar link, etc. Is it really that complicated ? Some GOOD videos sure would help, Thanks Guys (and gals).
hardest part on the front for me was compressing the dang springs. yes you gotta take the brake master cylinder lose to make room to get the upper shock tower lose. and to get the lower control to drop far enough you gotta take it lose at the ball joint if I remember right...gettin old sucks.
Thanks Craby. Not sure I want to tackle that. I'm going to get an estimate first. BTW Just did the rears. Wasn't too bad , but I'm 73 and everything is harder. Sooooo disappointed. Used some 46mm Gabriel shock from Rock Auto. Actually think I'll put the 126K mile de Carbon's back on.
strano has the koni street shocks on sale, his bilstein is a good set for a little more. Strano Performance Parts - Parts Search
