Default Shifter problem

I have a 1995 Camaro w/3.4L V6 and auto transmission. Lately I have been having to beat on the shifter **** to get it out of "park". I am stomping on the brake pedal as hard as I can but it doesnt seem to help any. I have had the shifter lubed and greased before and it helps for a little while, but its not long before its hard to push the button again. Is this a problem with the Brake Transmission Shifter Interlock system? And what do I need to have done to fix it? Thanks for any help.

Default RE: Shifter problem

sounds like the interlock system, i think its a cable but not perfectly sure, maybe get a replacement or if you can spray some lube down the cable tube to free it up??
