Default Service Engine Soon Light (P1870)

Alright so check it out. My camaro has 50,000 miles on it, yet the SES light is illuminated. I went to the parts store and borrowed a scanner and got the code P1870 Now I know that this code is "Trasmission component slipping". So my question is how would go about turning that light off for good? I have already tried an additive from lucus, it appeared to work but the light came back on.

My advice if you value your car and dont want to spend tons of money later, get it into a shop and have it fixed.

When you say the additive "appeared to work", what exactly does that mean? Does that mean you felt it slipping before and it felt better, or you added it and the light went out for a while?

The code means that the Torque Converter Clutch (TCC) is slipping. The TTC slipping results in poor fuel mileage, and the debris from the clutch surfacescan cause fluid passages to clog and mess up the transmission.

Yeah when it appeared to work the light turned off... right now the light is periodically turning on and off while I drive.
