Hey guys im new to this site but i have a 2001 ss camaro stock with 52000 miles on it.My Sevice engine light turned on and i check everything under the hood and there are no problems, is there a reset button i can do with the computer or is it something else le tme know....

you should get the computer scanned, it might have been a false code or something you didnt notice that the computer did

 

Tom, Welcome to the forums. If you don't know anyone with an OBD reader I would suggest going to a parts store like autozone or napa. They have them there and you should be able to use it. This is the best method of clearing the code and reseting the light and you will know what the problem is. I have heard that unpluging the battery over night works too but, I would rather know what the problem is and fix it.

 

Did you get gas recently and did it just come on while you were driving. I had that problem with mine and couldn't figure it out it was my gas cap that kept coming loose. I even click it 3 times and it still comes loose and it throws the service engine light. Check your gas cap it might be loose or broke I replaced mine and have not had a problem yet. Hope it helps you.
