Default Seeking advice...Muffler replacement on a '98 Z28

Hello. My OEM muffler has just about had it. Time for a replacement. Does anybody have advice about a good replacement that is better than OEM, with good quality? I'm not really thinking about revamping the whole exhaust.

Thanks.

are you wanting to just have a mechanic weld in a muffler into the stock exhaust? i believe stock exhaust is 2.5" but it may be 2.25". you will also want a 1 in/2 out opposedstyle muffler. I dont think slp makes these.... they usually do single pipe inline style. if it were me i would spend the extra cash and get a full catback of your choosing. there are alot to choose from, but magnaflow is a pretty good one.

What is gmmg?

probably one of the most badass exhaust systems, itsl ike the SLP where its made to go on the LS1 (but can also be retro fitted to the LT1s) if im not mistaken, the COPOs camaros came with them...?they're a chambered exhaust...

I would say go with full exhaust if you can and i would go SLP. Unless your gonna drive it everyday. I have edelbrock headers to tailpipes and it sounds good. SLP sounds better but as an everyday driver its a little loud thats what my cousin complains about like when he takes long highway trips he says he can't hear when he gets out. It sounds bad a$$ though

i dont complain about mine.. i think for some reason 96+ camaros arent as loud as 95> or is that just me? like i cant tell its loud until i get out or have someone come in saying "dude i freaking heard you upstairs, with my music playing, AND my window closed"

but on the inside its not so bad (unless you roll the windows down)

and i have SLP LM1s with Mid Length Headers.

The loudness is bad ***. Its worth it. If you can't put up with it all day, get a quiet exhaust and weld in a cutout.
