Default Security light on dash.

hey guyz, i have a 94 lt1. the security light on the dash is flashing and i cant get the car to turn over. it wont crank at all. i dont have like a keyless entry or alarm that i know of. it had a keyless entry remote but it never worked and was i guess broken when i got the car, i got it used by the way. i was wondering why the car would be doing this and if theres a way to fix it. please help me out here i need the car by friday to drive back home from school.

I had the same problem with mine. Not sure what exactly caused it to work again but this is what I did. I shut the car off four about 15 minutes but left the power on, as instructed to do so by my friend, and then tried to fire it up. That didn't seem to work but I did notice that when I wiggled my shifter back and forth it fired right up. To me it seems that most likely something got messed up with the shifter and my working it a little it broke it free. I've also been told to disconnect the negative battery terminal for a few mintues and then try to start it. Good luck, sorry I couldn't be more help.

Try a new key, the pellet may have gone bad.

this hanneped to me too... i had to have the whole key and ignition cylinder replaced.... like $200[:@]

my car has done this to me just yesterday I just had to replace the battery in the door/lock remote and used that it turned off.

thanks guys, i ended up takin it to the dealer and they fixed it, it was the whole ignition itself. the wires for the key pass thing wernt connected or something they said. thanks for the help though.

That's happened to me a couple of times. At first I panicked whenI couldn't get the car to turn on, then I remember reading that the electrical systems on these cars weren't the greatest. So, I just popped the hood, checked some fuses, jiggeled the key in the ignition about 5 min. later and that was that!

As a matter of fact, I think it only wouldn't turn on once.
