Default Safelite Auto Glass

I just posted this on their facebook, figure I would share it with you guys. Long story short, if you have any glass problems with an Fbody, avoid them like the plague.

My windshield was replaced March 26th. As soon as I sat in my car I noticed a large distortion in the middle of the glass, towards the bottom. I called and they scheduled for someone to come back out and look at it. The tech confirmed that the glass was distorted, and the glass he brought with him had the same distortion. Over the next few weeks I had a couple more techs come out with more warped glass. One of them noticed without even getting in the car that the glass is massively distorted. I had at least 4 appointments where I had to stay at my home for a 3 hour window, for nothing. They could have looked at the glass once and not wasted my time. They told me that it is impossible for them to find glass that isn’t distorted for my vehicle, that all glass has some sort of distortion. On May 22nd I drove to a Safelite location and signed a release of all claims so that I could get my money back. I was told that I would be getting cash, which is what I paid with, but when I got there the manager told me I would be getting a check in the mail. A month later, after not receiving a check, I called the customer service line. They told me that they mailed the check to someone else on accident. It is now May 29th and the check hasn’t been put in the mail yet. I have been promised to "hear back from someone by the end of the day" so many times, but not once have they held to that. On top of all of this, the installation of my windshield wasn’t what I was expecting either. Instead of unplugging the connector on my rear view mirror, the tech let it hang from the headliner, pulling it down and creasing the front. There’s numerous push pins missing from my cowl, some of which I found in my grass while mowing the lawn. The wiper arms were not tightened properly, and there is excess sealant all over the molding that goes around the windshield. The lack of respect the technician had for my vehicle was obvious. At this point I would not recommend Safelite. This is by far the worst experience that I have ever had with a company.

Not the first horror story I have heard about Safelite glass and Fbodies. Hope it works out for you in the end though

Yeah I've heard nothing but horror stories with safelite. Go to a reputable glass shop, maybe ask safelite to foot the bill.
