Ok I just bought a 2001 camaro with the 3800. SHE HAD A RUFF IDLE SO I PUT LUCUS INJECTOR CLEANER IN IT AND NOW WHEN I MASH THE GAS THERE IS A BAD STUMBLE. IF I FEATHER THE THROTTLE ITS NOT THERE. THE TECH II TOLD ME THAT THERE WAS A FAULT ON # 5 CYL. I REPLACED THE PLUGS AND WIRES AND STILL HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM. I TOOK OUT THE K&N AIR FILLTER AND INSTALLED A FACTORY AIR FILLTER THINKING MAYBE IT WAS AN AIR PROBLEM AND STILL THE SAME PROBLEM. HOOKED UP THE TECK II AND NOW ITS BOUNCING AROUND ON DIFFERENT CYL. I THEN WENT AND PUT A NEW FUEL FILTER ON HER AND STILL THE STUMBLE IS THERE. THIS WEEKEND I AM GOING TO HAVE THE INJECTORS FLUSHED AND SEE IF THAT HELPS. I WOULD APPRECIATE ANY HELP I CAN GET ON THIS. I LOVE THE CAR AND WILL GET IT FIXED ONE WAY OR ANOTHER.....

Coil pack maybe. What is the other cylinder that is misfiring?

 

man this just happened to another member and also myself, first thing i would do is check your vacuum line because its whats wrong with mine, if i go pass 4rpm about it will buckle and then stall if i idle this repair will cost no more than $50 if you do it yourself, by the way all 3 of us have the 3800 engine so im pretty sure that this is the problem with it

 

I disagree.... Because when he stomps it, he misfires... A vacuum line would do it all the time at any given point... I'm betting on a coil pack :$

 

I WAS THINKING COIL PACK AT FIRST BUT THEN I HOOKED UP THE TECK II AGAIN AND WOULD GET DIFFERENT CYL. CODES.

Then the control module may be shot or you need to replace all 3 coil packs?

 

WHERE WOULD THE VACUUM LINE BE THAT YOU ARE REFERRING TO BE ?
