Default Running lights and gauge lights not working

Ok so i have been having a problem for along time with my gauge lights not working. I never got around to fixing them because it didnt bother me. The gauges still work just not the lights behind them. They blow the fuse pretty much as soon as i turn the lights on. this happened when the car hit a bump hard.

The next problem started before the gauge lights not working but never cared about this one either. My inside lights wont turn on with the dimmer switch. The mirror lights work with there own buttons but i cant turn them on by the switch. I could when i first bought the car but i would have to wiggle and push the dimer wheel a certain way to get them to.

Now for the problem i do care about. My rear running lights and fog lights will not work. They are blowing the fuse too. It happened about week ago when i was having a bit to much fun in it. Anyway the car ended up going up and over a curb.

Im thinking i may need to replace the dimmer switch wheel. im not sure what the exact name is. I was just trying to get some ideas of what you guys think it could be. I was going to just replace the dimmer wheel but it sounded like a pita and i have a jacked up hand right now.

sounds like a short to me. do you have aftermarket stereo, is the a amp? keep your eyes open for open wires or crushed wires. look for any heat damage.

I have heard of a lot of folks having shorted switches in the inside mirror. Seem to be a weak design.

As for the rest, the fog lights relay gets it's power from the tail lights fuse and light switch. I would check all tail light bulbs and sockets. I have witnessed tail light bulbs shorting when blown.

i do have subs with an amp hooked up. the gauge lights and dimmer switch not turning interior lights on started before that. the running lights happened after it was installed.

is the amp mounted in the back, hatch area. you have wiring running under the carpet in back. might be worth lifting that carpet up and have a look under. if you have aftermarket stereo pull it out and see if wiring behind it is looking damaged.

I have the ground mounted right by the hatch lock. the power and 1 speaker wire is running through where the spare tire would be then down through the passenger kick panel and out though the rubber grommet under the computer. the amp and subs were hooked up about 2-3 weeks before the tail lights did this. the head unit was installed in september.

going to have to get the volt/ohm meter out and start testing wires. download the factory shop manual here https://camaroforums.com/forum/camar...d-views-73894/ click the f body service manual and download the 94fb file. there will be wiring schematics for your car that you can follow to find the problem.
