My transmission rpo codes comes up as MXO merchandising transmission what does that mean

 

trans codes are M49 is 5 sp, MM6 is 6 sp and M30 is auto, where you getting a MXO at

 

On the rpo code sticky thread if you scroll down to the m codes you will see it

 

download the factory shop manual for your year. some of the codes change over time. i was wondering where on the car you found this code, i cant find any MXO in my 2000 factory book.

Here's a picture of the service parts sticker on my 2000 SS. You'll notice both M30 and MXO are listed.



I also noticed the MXO code is not shown in the 2000 Service Manual, but it is in 2000 Chevrolet Car Product Guide. The Camaro White Book list MXO as an automatic transmission (no charge with Z28) so maybe that is what was meant by merchandising.
